TRAVERSE CITY, MI – On February 10th, 2015 at approximately 12:00pm, detectives from the Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office were attempting to locate a 21-year-old Traverse City female and a 23-year-old Traverse City male who both had multiple count Felony warrants out for Forgery, Uttering and Publishing, Receiving and Concealing Weapons, Larceny and Felony Firearm.
The 21-year-old female was located at the Courtade Elementary School parking lot where she was attempting to tour the school to possibly enroll her young child.
The 21-year-old female and 23-year-old male currently do not have any children attending any TCAP schools. Contact was made in the parking lot and the arrest for the warrants was made.
Further information was gathered with the assistance of one of the Sheriff’s Office drug detection K9s during the arrest which resulted in the additional arrest of Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drugs in a Drug Free Zone of the 21-year-old female.
The 23-year-old Traverse City man was also arrested at a residence in East Bay Township for the above warrants. The arrest and incident occurred in the School parking lot and at no time was the learning environment of the students or their safety an issue.
