Calhoun County crash kills 46 yr old Man

TEKONSHA TOWNSHIP, MI – On Thursday, February 12th, 2015, at approximately 5:13AM, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Personal Injury accident on Old US 27, near South County Line Road in Tekonsha Township. TEKONSHA TOWNSHIP

Upon arrival, deputies found two vehicles involved in the accident. The driver of one of the vehicles was pinned inside of his vehicle and it was determined that he died at the scene.

Upon investigation, deputies found that the deceased driver was traveling southbound on Old US 27, in a medium sized Chevrolet 4-door car. It appeared that this vehicle lost control and spun into the northbound lane.

A Ford F250 pick-up truck traveling northbound on Old US 27, collided with the southbound vehicle. The deceased driver was identified as a 46-year-old man from Tekonsha. The driver of the northbound vehicle suffered only minor injuries.

The names of both individuals have not been released.

At this time, it appears that icy road conditions were a factor in the crash. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Tekonsha Township Fire Department. This incident remains under investigation by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office’s Accident Reconstruction Team.
