GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, MI – The Grand Blanc Township Public Works Director, Jeff Sears, tried to assure residents today that the quality of the water that residents receive is not connected to the Flint water supply.
In light of recent publications and news articles, he felt that is was important to ensure the residents of Grand Blanc Township that the Township Department of Public Works delivers nothing but high quality water to their customers.
Grand Blanc Township water is purchased from Genesee County. Genesee County purchases their water from the City of Detroit which is piped to them from the Detroit Water and Sewer Department Lake Huron water treatment plant.
No Grand Blanc Township residents receive water from the City of Flint.
The City of Flint may deliver water to outlying residents in other communities but no Grand Blanc Township water customers receive City of Flint water.
Sears stated “Please be assured that Grand Blanc Township has the upmost concern for your drinking water. Samples are monitored often across our distribution system and we maintain our infrastructure to high degree. There is no reason to believe that there are water quality issues in our system.”
Please feel free to contact the Grand Blanc Township Water Department with any questions.
