EASTPOINTE, MI – Eastpointe police and fire officials are trying to raise $10,000 for funeral expenses for the Eastpointe mother and baby girl who were found murdered on Thursday evening, February 12th, 2015.
Monique Rakowski, and her 13-month-old baby daughter, Carmon, were discovered dead about 9:30pm in a house in the 23700 block of Normandy Avenue on Thursday, February 12th, 2015.
The 30-year-old boyfriend of the victim turned himself into Dearborn police at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13th, 2015. His name has not yet been released. He is expected to be arraigned on murder charges on Monday. He is also the father to the child.
The Eastpointe Police Command Officers Association, the East Detroit Police Officers Association and Eastpointe Fire Fighters Local 1561 on Friday evening announced they are accepting donations for Rakowski’s grieving family.
The goal is to raise $10,000 to cover funeral expenses for the mother and baby daughter. Any funds that may be left over will go to Rakowski’s 10-year-old son who is from a previous relationship.
