Shelby Township man dies in early morning Car Crash

MACOMB COUNTY, MI – A Shelby township man was killed in an early morning car crash on Sunday, February 15th, 2015.Fatal Crash

Police responded to the call that was received at 3:44 a.m. for an accident on 23 Mile Road between Ryan and Shelby roads. They found a 60-year-old Shelby Township man inside of a 2005 Chrysler 300 and a 21-year-old Troy man in a 1999 Mercury SUV.  Both men were found to be unresponsive.

Shelby Township firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate both drivers from their vehicles. Both victims were transported to Troy Beaumont Hospital.  The 60-year-old man was pronounced dead later at the hospital.

The 21-year-old Troy man is being treated for serious injuries.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the accident though no indication was given as to which driver may have been drinking or at fault.
