Dearborn Soccer Player Pleads Guilty to Killing Referee

LIVONIA, MI – Bassel Abdul-Amir Saad, 36 years old, of Dearborn, who was facing the charge of second degree murder in the death of soccer referee John Bieniewicz , 44-years-old, has pleaded guilty to a charge of Involuntary Manslaughter.  Bassel Abdul-Amir Saad

John Bieniewicz, who was punched by Saad, died from the injuries sustained by him during an adult soccer game that was being played in Mies Park in Livonia on Sunday, June 29th, 2014.

He is now facing 8-15 years in prison.  His sentencing is next month.
