CLAY TOWNSHIP, MI – The St. Clair County Drug Task Force conducted two raids on the evening of Thursday, February 26th, 2015, at opposite ends of the county.
According to Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the DTF conducted an investigation into the sales of heroin in the Clay Township area.
The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a home in the 6100 block of Swartout Road in Clay at about 6:00 p.m. Thursday night.
The DTF seized about $1500 worth of heroin, $3000 worth of crack cocaine, analog pills valued at approximately $5000, along with drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, scales, cash and a cell phone.
Seven people were arrested as a result of the investigation. A 30 year old woman from Clay Township, two men from Clay, ages 26 and 28, a 30 year old woman from Marine City, A 23 year old woman from Chesterfield, a 33 year old man from West Bloomfield and a 34 year old man from Detroit now face charges including possession of heroin with intent to deliver, possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of analog pills with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug house and frequenting a drug house.
The Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol all assisted in the investigation.
About five hours after the first search warrant was served, a second was executed in the city of Port Huron.
The DTF was conducting an investigation into the sales of heroin in the Port Huron area. That investigation led to the execution of a search warrant in the 1100 block of Oak Street in the city of Port Huron. Heroin and marijuana were confiscated at that residence during the search that began about 11:00 pm.
Two Port Huron residents were arrested; a 24 year old woman and a 49 year old man. They face charges of possession of heroin with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and maintaining a drug house.
