IRA TOWNSHIP – An investigation into the sale of marijuana in the Ira Township area by the St. Clair County Drug Task Force ended with the confiscation of drugs and an arrest Monday night.
According to Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the investigation led to the execution of a search warrant by the DTF at a home in the 9900 block of Bayside Court in Ira at about 9:00 p.m. Monday night. Once inside, members of the Drug Task Force located and seized about $2500 worth of marijuana, marijuana edibles, hash oil, heroin, drug paraphernalia, packaging, scales, a cell phone and a vehicle.
A 23-year-old Ira Township man was arrested and taken to the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center. He is expected to face charges including possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of heroin, possession of hashish and maintaining a drug house.
The St. Clair County Sheriff Special Response Team and Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit assisted in the investigation.
