It is alleged that a 26-year-old Wyandotte woman, Kimberly Pappas, gave birth to a full-term baby boy inside a restroom at Ceva Logistics in Redford Township, where she worked as a temporary employee. Authorities found the child inside a drawer of the woman’s desk. The baby was discovered on March 31st, 2015.
Police had been waiting on the Medical Examiners report to determine the cause of death. The Medical Examiner determined that the baby boy died from asphyxiation.
The child’s mother is being charged with murder.
This is the second unnerving incident of a baby being born and then left to die. The first homicide was brought to the attention of the public after that baby boy was found in a recycling center. His mother, Angela Marie Alexie, has been arraigned on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree child abuse.
