BRIDGEHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, MI – On July 7th, 2015 at approximately 2:22 p.m., Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a two vehicle personal injury accident at the intersection of Forester Road and Hunt Road in Sanilac County’s Bridgehampton Township.
According to Sheriff’s Deputies a 2008 GMC Envoy driven by 35-year-old female of Deckerville was traveling west on Forester Road and had pulled off on to the shoulder of the roadway. She attempted to make a U-turn and pulled into the path of a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup driven by a 50-year-old female of Minden City, who was also traveling west bound. The Dodge pickup struck the driver’s door of the Envoy causing both vehicles to come to rest in the roadway.
Deckerville Fire Department used their Jaws of Life to free the female in the GMC Envoy and she was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup was transported to Deckerville Hospital for treatment of injuries by Sanilac EMS.
The accident remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office. The driver of the GMC was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and had a minor child in the front seat of the vehicle. The driver was cited for the traffic violations. The driver of the Dodge was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
