LANSING, MI – The Department of Natural Resources today announced that the Michigan Trails Advisory Council will hold its next regular meeting Monday, July 20th, 2015, at the Doherty Hotel, 604 North McEwan St. in Clare, Michigan. The public meeting will begin at 10 a.m.
Agenda Items include:
•Staff and trails updates.
•Michigan Trails Legislative Day.
•Landowners with trails on their property – liabilities/benefits.
•Nonmotorized Advisory Workgroup – replacement of mountain biking representative.
•Land use orders.
The Michigan Trails Advisory Council was created by Part 721, Pure Michigan Trails, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, to advise the DNR director and the governor on the creation, development, operation and maintenance of motorized and nonmotorized trails in the state, including, but not limited to, snowmobile, biking, equestrian, hiking, off-road vehicle, water and skiing trails. In advising the director and governor on the creation and development of motorized and nonmotorized trails in the state, the council shall seek to have the trails linked wherever possible.
