PORT HURON TOWNSHIP, MI – The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in solving a rash of catalytic converter thefts throughout the county.
According to Sheriff Tim Donnnellon, the converters are being stolen from vehicles that are parked in park and rides and commercial lots in the county. The Sheriff’s Office has received at least 6 reported thefts of catalytic converters in the past week. Other area law enforcement agencies have also had reports filed with them.
Anyone seeing suspicious activity around parked vehicles, such as a person crawling under a vehicle, is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately at (810) 985-8115, or your local police agency.
