ALPENA, MI – Residents in the area of 11th Avenue, Elizabeth Street, Charlotte Street and Ripley Blvd should be checking their vehicles for missing items this morning.
At about 5a.m. on Wednesday, July 29th, 2015, a resident on Elizabeth Street woke up and happened to look outside. They noticed two individuals with a flash light going from car to car on neighbors properties. They were entering unlocked vehicles. That person then noticed that the apparent thieves traveled down Charlotte and then went in the direction of the housing projects located on 11th Avenue. While watching the problem unfold, the resident called police who arrived within minutes.
Another neighbor was alerted to the issue. They found that one of their vehicles had been entered into but nothing appears to have been taken. Upon further inspection two more vehicles on their property had also been entered into but again it appears nothing of value was taken.
The officer on scene is urging area residents to lock their vehicles and homes to avoid the loss of any property by those wishing to do no good.
No description is available of the two thieves.
