ARGYLE TOWNSHIP, MI – The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a personal injury car accident that occurred at approximately 9:37 p.m. on July 29th, 2015.
Sanilac Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call that a vehicle was involved in an accident on Sheldon Road near Shabbona Road in Argyle Township. Dispatch was advised the vehicle had rolled over and three occupants were injured.
Sheriff’s Deputies, the Argyle Fire Department, and two Sanilac EMS Ambulances responded to the scene. The 36-year-old female driver from the Sandusky area was taken to McKenzie hospital for treatment of her injuries. A 23-year-old male passenger from the Deckerville area was also taken to McKenzie for treatment. A 37-year-old male passenger from the Sandusky area was taken to Deckerville, where a Life Net Helicopter transported him to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw for treatment of his injuries.
The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team was called out to conduct the accident investigation and reconstruction. The initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling southbound and the operator lost control on the dirt road. The vehicle ran off the roadway to the left where it began overturning. The vehicle rolled end-over-end and side-over-side several times before coming to rest on its roof.
The accident is still under investigation and alcohol and speed are believed to be a factor.
The names of the driver and occupants are being withheld pending possible criminal charges.
