ALPENA, MI – He has been on trial facing 12 counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct (CSC) with teenagers, including at least one under the age of 13, spanning more than a decade. After stopping his trial in July, his No Contest plea sent him to prison for up to 40 years.
It is alleged that his victims involved at least 6 individuals. On Thursday, July 16th, 2015, after three days of testimony during his trial, James William Freese Jr., stopped the proceedings and plead No Contest to 11 of the 12 charges.
James William Freese Jr., 41-years-old, of Engadine, MI, was sentenced by 26th Circuit Court by Judge Michael G. Mack on Thursday, September 24th, 2015, for those crimes. Freese was given 15 to 40 years in prison for those crimes.
Freese claims to have no recollection of the crimes because he had taken drugs and alcohol, and because some of the assaults were almost nearly 25 years ago.
