PORT HURON, MI – A new tolling system is now installed at the Blue Water Bridge incorporating more technology and convenience for bridge customers.
New equipment has been installed, including proximity card readers, exit gates, and electronic fare displays.
Over the next few months more features will be added that include the ability to pay via credit card, online account management for customers, and video auditing of transactions.
The Blue Water Bridge has participated with the state’s other toll bridges, the International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie and the Mackinac Bridge, to update their tolling systems. This project is a multi-year effort to ensure that crossing these bridges continues to be as safe and efficient as possible for customers.
