ALLEN PARK, MI – Michigan State Police were on the scene of a deadly accident that occurred on west bound I-94 at Oakwood Boulevard in Allen Park.
The accident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 7th, 2015. Westbound I-94 was closed at Oakwood Boulevard in Allen Park due to the fatal accident. Two people are confirmed dead.
A black Ford Escape SUV, driven by a woman with a male passenger, hit two motorcycles killing both of those on board the cycles.
It is reported that the eastbound SUV crossed over the median and slammed into the two motorcyclists. Debris could be seen scattered across the west bound lanes of I-94. The occupants of the Ford Escape were able to exit their vehicle on their own. It is believed that the driver of the SUV was traveling in the left fast lane on eastbound I-94.
Identities of those involved have not been released at this time. Authorities are investigating what may have caused the deadly crash.
Fox 2 Detroit reports that drugs and alcohol appear to be factors in this deadly crash.
