FLINT, MI – Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said that a jury has convicted two teens of armed robbery related to an incident that occurred one year ago in Mt. Morris Township.
Antonio Lay, 18-years-old, and Kashif Reynolds, 19-years-old, both of Flint, were convicted of Armed Robbery, Home Invasion First Degree, Felon in Possession, and Felony Firearm 2nd for the November 4, 2014 robbery of a group of people who were gambling at a home on Natchez Drive.
Lay and Reynolds had been at the home earlier with the son of the homeowner but came back later with masks on and armed with pistols. They robbed everyone present and fled the scene. Approximately two weeks later, they were apprehended by a fugitive team of law enforcement officers.
Both Lay and Reynolds had previously served time in prison together on weapons charges. They face up to life in prison on the armed robbery conviction and a mandatory 5 years in prison consecutive to any sentence imposed on them for the other underlying charges when they are sentenced on December 7th, 2015.
