Detroit Police to Kick Off 90-Day Weight Loss Challenge

DETROIT, MI – Police Chief James E. Craig in partnership with Dr. Reginald Eadie, CEO of Detroit Receiving Hospital and Harper- Hutzel Hospitals, will hold a press conference to kick-off the 90-Day Weight Loss Challenge, a joint collaboration between the Detroit Police Department and the Detroit Medical Center (DMC).Detroit Police

The 90-Day Weight Loss Challenge is the first step of what will be a year-long program and partnership. This collaboration is designed to improve the physical fitness of Detroit’s finest. This program will assist officers and staff members in making healthy lifestyle changes that will boost the morale and overall health of the department.

The 90-Day Weight Loss Challenge Kick-Off will also include a free health screening, sponsored by the Detroit Medical Center. Members from the DMC’s staff will be on hand to screen hundreds of police officers and staff members for weight, cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure, BMI, vision and more. The kick off will also include personal consultations, presentations, and mini exercise demos.
