23 yr Old Arrested in Berrien County for Breaking and Entering

NEW BUFFALO TOWNSHIP, MI – Just after midnight on New Year’s Day, January 1st, 2016, Officers were dispatched to Lakeview Ave in Union Pier, MI for a breaking and entering of a residence in progress.  Home_invasion

Officers were advised that the caller saw a person fall out of their neighbor’s window and knew the neighbor to be on vacation.  Upon arriving to the area, officers found two neighboring homes had been broken into and the suspect had fled the scene.

The investigation revealed that the suspect was staying at a home in the area.  Officers were able to locate him a short time later and he was taken into custody without incident.

Franklin Campbell, 23-years-old, of Chicago, IL and Union Pier, MI, was arrested and taken to the Berrien County Jail on charges of breaking and entering of two residential dwellings.

New Buffalo Twp Patrol from the Berrien County Sheriff, Pokagon Tribal Police Dept, Chikaming Twp Police Dept, New Buffalo City Police Dept and Three Oaks Police Dept assisted in the investigation.
