Gaylord Man Identified in Fatal Snowmobile Accident

GAYLORD, MI – Around 2:30 a.m., on Saturday, January 16th, 2016, police in Gaylord were called to the scene of a snowmobile accident on Trail 7 behind the Tractor Supply Company on South Otsego Ave.  That is where authorities found a 38-year-old Gaylord man unresponsive.  That man died at the scene of the crash.Scott Alan Fields

He has been identified as Scott Alan Fields, 38-years-old, of Gaylord and formerly of Richmond and Chesterfield.


Scott Fields was born September 17, 1977, in Mt. Clemens the son of Michael and Susan (Angliss) Fields.

Scott was employed by Chrysler Corporation and Lear Corporation, Roscommon. He was a former pitcher and catcher for L’Anse Creuse North Baseball and loved snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and golfing.

Surviving in addition to his parents Michael and Susan are a brother and sister-n-law, Patrick and Cindy (Gohr) of Grass Lake, his dog “Lilly” and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Jr. in 2002.

The family honors the memory of Scott and invite you to visit and share memories Friday, January 22, 2016, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Rev. Alex Steward, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery, Richmond.
