BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone is reporting the arrest of a 34-year-old Toledo man in connection with four recent home invasions.
On Thursday, February 25th, 2016, two home invasions were reported to the Monroe Sheriff’s Office. One occurred in the 10000 block of Crabb Road and the other in the 3700 block of Maple Road, both in Bedford Township.
On Saturday, February 27th, 2016, a home invasion was reported to the Sheriff’s Office in the 3800 block of W Erie Road.
On Sunday, February 28th, 2016, a home invasion was reported to the Sheriff’s Office in the 10000 block of Strasburg Road in Erie Township.
Televisions, guns, cash, and jewelry were stolen from these home invasions. Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives, working closely with Toledo Police Detectives, uncovered evidence linking the man, who is on parole through the state of Ohio, to all four of these south county home invasions.
On Tuesday, March 8th, 2016, the Toledo Police located the suspect at a motel along Alexis Road and took him into custody. Sheriff’s Detectives located several items of property stolen from these home invasions.
Toledo Police arrested the man and lodged him at the Lucas County Jail on home invasion charges from a case they had been investigating. Monroe Sheriff’s Detectives will be requesting home invasion charges against the man through the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office. The man remains in custody in the Lucas County Jail.
The man’s name is being withheld until charges are authorized and arraignment occurs in First District Court, Monroe.
