FRASER, MI – A 19-year-old man was killed on Saturday, March 12th, 2016, when the vehicle that he was a passenger in was struck from behind.
According to police, the crash happened around 1:41 a.m. at the intersection of Groesbeck and 14 Mile.
Authorities state that a Buick SUV, driven by a 24-year-old man, was traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed into the back of a Lincoln Mark 8, that was occupied by four people, waiting at a red light.
Julius Jones, 19-years-old, was killed while seated in the back seat of the car that was hit, and a 20-year-old man also sitting in the back seat is in critical condition. The driver and front passenger of the car are in stable condition.
Jones was a senior at Roseville High School.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
The driver of the Buick is in custody and will be arraigned Monday in 39th District Court.
The accident remains under investigation.
