PORT HURON, MI – Funeral services for the man who was found at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30th, 2016, in a ditch in Armada Township have been announced. It is believed that he was the victim of a hit and run accident. The person responsible for the accident has not been found at this time.
Jacob Lee Brand, 21-years-old, of Kimball Twp., passed away on April 30, 2016 unexpectedly after an accident. He was born on September 22, 1994 in St. Clair.
Jacob graduated from Memphis High School in 2012. He was a member of the IBEW Local # 58. Jacob enjoyed mud bogging, four wheeling, hunting and just being outdoors. He especially loved to be with his family and having fun.
He is survived by his mother, Holly K. Sass of Port Huron; father, William Lee Brand of Columbus; sisters: Amber Brand of Kimball, Kassidy Lockhart of Port Huron and Hailey Lockhart of Port Huron; nephew, Nathanial Brand of Port Huron; grandparents: Earl (Joann) Sass of Kimball, Don Basnaw of Kentucky, Lois McCollister of Port Huron, Darlene (Kenny) Brand of Columbus Twp., great-grandparent, Shirley Allen of Williamsburg, Kentucky, uncle, Lee Brand of Columbus Twp., aunt, Racheal Brand of St. Clair Twp., aunt, Theresa (Craig) Grappin of Pinconning, uncle, Chris (Gayle) Sass of Mississippi, uncle, Earl (Tami) Sass of Kentucky, and several cousins. Jacob was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marlene.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, May 6, 2016, in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, at 17th Street, Port Huron. Pastor Lyle Teal will officiate.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, 2:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday, 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am in the funeral home.
