MONTMORENCY COUNTY, MI – Erich Wilfinger pleaded no contest to second degree murder in the death of his wife, Marsha Wilfinger, on Monday, April 4th, 2016. Today he was sentenced for that crime.
A judge sentenced Erich Wilfinger to spend 25-60 years in prison for his wife’s murder, with credit for 318 days already served.
According to Michigan State Police, a burning vehicle was found around 11:14 p.m. on June 20th, 2015 at the intersection of Sheridan Valley Rd. and Scenic Route 3 in Albert Township. Authorities stated the vehicle had obviously been towed to that location based on drag marks, car parts and a damaged tree line coming from a certain directions. Police followed that trail back to where it originated from. The investigation led to Erich Wilfinger’s arrest.
Court documents also say Erich is charged for attempting to break out of jail.
