Police say the victim was sitting in his car in the Wendy’s parking lot at 12:46 a.m. when the suspect approached him.
The suspect is identified as Avery Taylor, 19-years-old, of New Boston.
He had worn a bandanna to conceal his face while he used a golf club to break out the driver’s side window and demanded money from the victim. The victim gave the suspect his wallet. It is at that time Taylor fled to his vehicle.
Avery Taylor was located speeding southbound on South Dixie Highway. Police say they were able to identify the him because he was still wearing the bandanna used in the robbery.
Police searched the area where the suspect was stopped and recovered the victim’s wallet. He had thrown it from his car.
Taylor has been arraigned in front of Judge Jarod Calkins in First District Court. Bail was denied.
This case remains under investigation by Deputies Swiercz, Motylinski, Bender, and Detective Smith.
