PONTIAC, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 140 block of Perkins Street on the report of an adult male stabbing victim on Sunday, May 15th, 2016 at 11:45 p.m.
Deputies were advised by the caller that the wounds had been self-inflicted. Upon arrival, Deputies located the victim, a 29 year old man from Pontiac, who was bleeding from the abdomen.
The victim, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, stated that he had fallen on the knife. Deputies located the victim’s girlfriend, a 24-year-old woman, of Pontiac, and their five year old son inside of the residence. Deputies were able to determine that the girlfriend was responsible for the stabbing. The victim was stabbed by the suspect using a kitchen knife.
Paramedics from STAR EMS arrived and stabilized the stabbing victim and later transported him to McLaren Hospital – Oakland. The victim is currently listed in stable condition.
An Evidence Tech photographed and processed the scene. The two children in the house were left to the care of the suspect’s grandmother. T
he suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of criminal charges. The OCSO Detectives and Child Protective Services were notified.
The incident remains under investigation.
