The victim, Ajayi McGuire, 25-years-old, was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of gunshot wounds.
A suspect was arrested later that day and a second suspect was arrested the following day.
Those suspects, Dominique Singleton, 22-years-old and James Holcum Jr., 45-years-old, have now been charged and arraigned for Open Murder, Felony Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Based on information obtained from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Dominique Singleton was released from prison in June of 2015. He was out on parole when he allegedly committed this crime. He already had three felonies on his record for:
- Armed Robbery
- Car Jacking
- Weapons – Felony Firearms
James Holcum was released from prison in January of 2014. His convictions were for:
- 2 Weapons – Firearms – Possession by Felon
- 2 Weapons – Carrying Concealed
- Asslt w/Int Gr Bod Hrm Less Murder
- Controlled Substance-Possess Narcotic/Cocaine < 25 Grams
If convicted, they both face life without parole behind bars.
