Teen causes Thousands in Damage to Cars at Grand Traverse Resort

Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the incident throughout the day and collected physical evidence.

It was determined that approximately 30 parked vehicles were damaged. Vehicles ranging from passenger cars to sport utility vehicles had windows smashed out, mirrors ripped off, tail lights broken, a jeep soft top was cut, and an Escalades LCD radio display was destroyed.

The damage repair costs are estimated to be in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Investigative efforts and physical evidence led Deputies to a room at the resort where they located a 19-year-old Traverse City man who was staying with family. The subject admitted to his involvement in the destruction of the vehicles. He was arrested on felony malicious destruction of property charges and was lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail.
