WHITE CLOUD, MI – Sheriff Patrick Hedlund released a statement concerning a ranking road patrol deputy that he has placed on paid administrative leave.
The Sheriff stated that the deputy has ‘defied election laws, department policies regarding insubordination, “on-duty” political activity and policy regarding the unauthorized release of departmental information’.
The deputy in question is Lt. Chad Palmiter.
Palmiter has been suspended pending an investigation into the allegations of his misconduct.
This also comes at the same time that Undersheriff Brian Boyd resigned from his job. He resigned effective May 31, 2016.
The Sheriff is working to ensure that all persons employed by his department put the needs of the citizens before their own personal agendas.
