SILVER LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI – Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that on Sunday, June 5th, 2016, at 7:12 p.m., deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a motorcycle versus car personal injury accident on M152 west of M51 in Silver Creek Township.
A 30-year-old Dowagiac resident, Charles Hammond was traveling on his motorcycle westbound on M152 with his 24-year-old passenger, Kaylea Davis. A vehicle driven by 40-year-old Hartford resident, Stephanie Pinkowski was turning into Lutz’s Drive In when the two vehicles collided.
Helmets were worn by the passengers on the motorcycle. A seatbelt was worn by the second driver.
Hammond was transported to the hospital by AirCare. Davis was transported to Borgess Lee by Pride Care ambulance.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the traffic crash, but it is still under investigation.
Assisting at the crash scene were Pride Care Ambulance, Pokagon Tribal Police, Sister Lakes Fire Department and AirCare flight.
