GRANT TOWNSHIP, MI – The body of a man from Southfield, who was reported missing from the Lakes of Fire Festival, at the Lucky Lake Campground, was recovered at approximately 11:00 a.m. Monday morning.
Matthew Vo, 29-years-old, of Southfield, was reported missing on Sunday, June 19th, 2016, while he was attending the Lakes of Fire Festival. The Lakes of Fire Festival is a branch of the Burning Man Festival.
Vo had been at the festival Saturday evening, June 18th, but had not been seen since early Sunday morning. Vo’s vehicle was located at the campground.
The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement: “The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is very sorry to report that Mr. Matthew Vo was recovered from Lucky Lake late this morning,” “The investigation is currently taking place and facts are just now being discovered but Mr. Vo was found floating in Lucky Lake. Preliminary facts would suggest that he is a victim of drowning. This is a very preliminary investigation as many interviews are taking place and the follow-up may take several days.”
