DETROIT, MI – He turned himself into police after he fled the scene of a three car crash that killed an 83-year-old Detroit woman known as the ‘Flower Lady’.
The crash happened on Sunday, July 3rd, 2016, on Detroit’s east side.
Charlotte Kish was known for taking care of the flower beds in the median of East Outer Drive between Mound Road and Ryan Road. She was critically hurt while watering her flowers when a car slammed into her.
The driver, Deonte Renfroe, 19-years-old, of Detroit, who allegedly caused the crash, took off running and fled the scene. He turned him in on Tuesday, July 6th.
Renfroe was arraigned Thursday, July 7th, 2016, on charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter with a motor vehicle.
Charlotte Kish died from her injuries at approximately 1:30 a.m. Monday morning, July 4th.
