Detroit Man in Custody for Pointing Gun at Innocent Victim

DETROIT, MI – The teenager that Detroit Police were searching for, who pointed a gun at an innocent man, has been taken into custody.Steven Drake Edwards Jr.

DPD arrested Steven Drake Edwards, Jr., 19-years-old, of Detroit.  Edwards had taunted authorities on social media by posting a to dare try to arrest him.

On Tuesday July 12th, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m., the victim was exiting the Brightmoor Liquor, Beer & Wine Store when the suspect, a passenger of a parked red vehicle, called him over to the car. As the victim approached the vehicle, the suspect pointed a handgun at him then began yelling derogatory remarks, slurs and demands. The victim ducked out of the direction of the weapon and immediately walked away.

Edwards will probably be charged with no less than Felonious Assault but he could very well be charged with hates crimes too.
