Man Killed in Fatal Oakland County Motorcycle Crash

PONTIAC, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Waterford Regional Fire Department responded at 1:11 a.m. on Sunday, July 17th, 2016, to a fatal motorcycle crash on northbound Woodward Ave, north of Osmun Street.  Fatal Motorcycle

As Woodward Ave curved to the right, the operator of the motorcycle continued to drive straight and struck the curb, causing the driver, a 28-year-old man, of Marysville, to lose control. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the grassy median.  Paramedics from Star EMS arrived to provide medical treatment.  Alcohol appears to have been a factor.

Deputies from the OCSO Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to assist with the crash investigation.  Paramedics transported the driver to McLaren Osteopathic Hospital – Oakland where he died from his injuries.  The crash remains under investigation.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
