MONROE, MI –
Bruck was last seen at a party in Frenchtown Township in Monroe County. Video from that night shows the massive Halloween party, hosted by the rock group Pick Axe Preacher. More than 600 people showed up to the party. The gathering was about ten miles away from where she lived with her parents in the village of Maybee.
After an intensive search, her body was discovered months later on Friday, April 24th, 2015. Construction workers found her body in a wooded area near train tracks in the village of Carleton.
Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone announced that a 27-year-old man from Newport has been arrested for her murder. Malone stated that the suspect made incriminating statements that only the killer would know because details that he knew were not released the media.
He will be arraigned on Monday. The suspect is being charged with Open Murder. He is lodged in the Monroe County pending his arraignment.
The man was wanted on unrelated warrants. The suspect has a history of crime. He has previously been arrested some 10 other times. The man lived about two miles away from where her body was located in a remote area off Briar Hill Rd. in Ash Township.
Police had set up surveillance at the man’s residence Friday afternoon, and then brought him in for questioning.
The Newport man’s name was not yet released.
