DELTA TOWNSHIP, MI – On Tuesday, July 5th, 2016 at 8:08 pm Eaton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to an EMS assist at a residence on Oakcrest Drive in Delta Township.
A family member reported finding the 78 year old male resident, John Abraham unconscious and not breathing and with apparent recent injuries. Upon arrival, Deputies were subsequently advised by EMS that the victim was deceased. Due to the nature of the injuries to Mr. Abraham, Eaton County Sheriff’s Office Detectives responded and began a homicide investigation. The Michigan State Police Crime lab responded and assisted at the crime scene.
On July 21, Eaton County Sheriff’s Detectives investigation led to the issuance of a search warrant and the Lansing Police Department assisted our Detectives in executing the search. In the early morning hours of July 22, 2016 a 26 year old male suspect and a 25 year old female suspect, both residents of Lansing were arrested by Eaton County Sheriff’s Detectives and lodged in the Eaton County Jail. Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich stated “I am very pleased with the tremendous effort of our Detectives in this murder investigation resulting in the arrests of these suspects”.
Both suspects have been charged by the Eaton County Prosecutor’s Office and will be arraigned at 1:30 pm today by 56th District Court Judge Reinke. The identity of the arrested suspects cannot be released until the suspects are arraigned. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
