This Saturday, July  30th, 2016, a Redford Township Police Officer was working an accident on I-96 and his patrol vehicle was rear ended, sending it into another vehicle.

The Officer was out of his vehicle and was not injured. Two subjects were transported to a local hospital as a result of the crash, with non life threatening injuries.

Redford Township Police are reminding drivers that “there is a reason for the Emergency Vehicle, or “Move Over” law in Michigan.  Most other states have the same or similar laws.”

“Please be safe, and remember even when passing an accident scene, as tempting as it is to look, keep your eyes on the road. Often secondary accidents occur from drivers paying more attention to the accident than to the traffic in front of them.”
