OXFORD TOWNSHIP, MI – On Friday, August 5th,2016, at approximately 9:20am, deputies from the Oxford substation responded to the Deerwood Manor Group Home at 1095 Hummer Lake Rd in Oxford Twp regarding a patient that had walked away from the home.
It was reported that Theresa Adams, 63-years-old, who is diagnosed with a Schizoaffective Disorder, had not been seen by the staff at the group home in approximately 30 minutes. They checked the building and the premises before contacting the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were given Theresa’s description as follows:
- White female born in 1953 (63 years of age), auburn or strawberry blonde hair, hazel eyes, 5’3” tall,115 lbs
- Last seen wearing a light blue jacket and gray running pants
Deputies performed an area check and were unable to locate Theresa Adams. Theresa Adams was entered in LEIN as a missing/endangered person (BC#632) and this information was broadcast to Oakland County law enforcement. As of Saturday, August 6th at 10:00 a.m., Theresa has not returned or been located. Local hospitals and Common Ground were contacted and she is not at any of these places. Theresa does not own/carry a cellular phone or have any family in the state. Theresa has walked away from the group home in the past and has been located walking on roadways within several hours of going missing. She has been located in Brandon and Orion Townships in the past. Theresa is easily lost/disoriented when she is in unfamiliar areas, and also needs medication for her condition that is provided to her at the group home.
