Man Murdered at Soccer Game in Pontiac

PONTIAC, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched, at 4:30 p.m., to the intersection of E. Rundell St. and Edison St. (Aaron Perry Park) for multiple 911 calls for a report of shots fired during a soccer game on Sunday, August 7th, 2016.Oakland County Sheriff

Aaron Perry Park hosts a  soccer league on Sunday afternoons and there were several hundred people there at the time of the incident.

Upon arrival, deputies located Gilmar Carrillo, 42-years-old, of Pontiac, lying on his back at the bottom of a small section of bleachers. Witnesses stated the victim was sitting on the top row (4th row) of the bleachers eating and fell back off the bleachers after being shot.

Deputies performed CPR until paramedics from STAR EMS and Waterford Regional FD arrived. Carrillo was transported at McLaren Oakland where he was pronounced dead.

A second shooting victim, a 49-year-old man, of Pontiac, walked into McLaren Oakland and stated that he was also shot at Aaron Perry Park. The second shooting victim suffered at graze wound to his back and was treated and released.

SUPSECT INFORMATION: Two males, possibly of Hispanic descent, and an unknown driver in a dark colored sedan that fled the scene.
