Man Dies after Armed Robbery Shooting in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The victim who was shot during an armed robbery in Grand Rapids has died.police-investigation

The Grand Rapids Police Department investigated an armed robbery/shooting which occurred on the 1600 block of College Av SE. Officers were called to the scene at 9:06 pm. When they arrived they found Kenneth Ray-Daniel Kirkwood, 39-years-old, of Grand Rapids, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries were listed as life threatening.

Kenneth Kirkwood died on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016 shortely after 4:00 a.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates that 3 black male suspects on bicycles approached 2 men who were sitting on a porch and demanded money. One victim was pistol whipped while the other was shot multiple times. The suspects fled the scene on the bicycles with an undisclosed amount of money.
