Motorcyclist Killed on 8 Mile Road in Detroit

DETROIT, MI – One man is dead and two were placed under arrest after a deadly accident that occurred in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 24th, 2016.Fatal Motorcycle

The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. at 8 Mile Road and Groesbeck Highway.  The fatal hit-and-run accident happened on the border of Detroit and Warren.

The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on 8 Mile Road when it was struck by an older model 4-door Buick Lesabre. Following the collision, the driver of the Buick and his passenger fled on foot but were eventually located by patrol officers approximately one mile from the scene of the crash.  They were placed under arrest without further incident.

It is unclear at this time what charges they will be facing.

The motorcyclist was declared dead the scene. The name of the victim has not yet been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
