Detroit Police search for Suspect in Armed Robbery of Family Dollar

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted for armed robbery of a Family Dollar on the city’s east side.

On Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 8:30 a.m., in the 1700 block of E. State Fair, an armed suspect approached the female victim while she was opening the store, entered the store behind her, and robbed her at gunpoint. The armed suspect struck the victim in her head with a handgun, then fled the location. Taken was an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’7”, 250 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.
