TRAVERSE CITY, MI – At approximately 2:09 a.m. today, October 17th, 2016, Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Shell Gas Station on South Airport near Lafranier Road for a report of an armed robbery.

A white male subject entered the business with a knife in his possession and demanded that an employee “give him all the money”. The employee initially thought the suspect was joking, but quickly realized he was serious and turned over between $150 and $200 in cash. The employee was not physically injured during the robbery.

The suspect is further described as being approximately 6′ tall, thin build and weighing approximately 170lbs. He was wearing a dark coat/sweatshirt, dark colored pants and shoes. The suspect had a dark colored bandana over his face, burgundy winter hat on his head and was carrying a blue material type Meijer grocery bag.

The subject should be considered dangerous especially given his actions and the fact that he has in his possession a knife. If you have any information that could assist in the investigation with identifying or locating the individual, you are requested to contact GT County Central Dispatch at 231-922-4550 or anonymous at 231-947-TIPS.
