Midland Man Arrested after Crashing Vehicle in Leelanau County

GLEN ARBOR TOWNSHIP, MI – The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office arrested a driver involved in a two vehicle traffic crash in Glen Arbor Township.

On Sunday, October 16th, 2016, at 1:07 a.m., sheriff’s deputies and Glen Arbor Fire responded to a two vehicle accident on South Dunns Farm Road west of Trumbull Road. Upon arrival, deputies found two vehicles damaged and off the west side of the roadway.

An investigation showed that a 2002 Blue Chevrolet Blazer, driven by a 53-year-old man from Midland, was southbound when the vehicle veered off the roadway striking a parked 2017 Cadillac. The Blazer continued off the roadway striking a decorative garden. The Cadillac was propelled into a light pole and a tree.

The Cadillac was unoccupied at the time but the vehicle suffered heavy damage. The driver of the Chevrolet Blazer was determined to be intoxicated. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated and lodged in the Leelanau County Jail. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured in the crash.
