Two Arrested for Carjacking in Pontiac

PONTIAC, MI – A 47-year-old Pontiac man is fortunate to not have been more severely hurt than he was on Friday, October 21st, 2016, when he was carjacked by two individuals around 12:15 a.m.carjacking

Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 200 block of Sanderson St., in the City of Pontiac, for a carjacking that had taken place.

The victim told Deputies that he picked up two subjects at the gas station in the area of Baldwin and Montcalm in the City of Pontiac. All three drove around, and when they were on Liberty Street in Pontiac the two subjects assaulted the victim by hitting him in the face and threatened him with a knife, forcing the victim out of the car. The suspects had taken the victims cell phone as well.

Deputies used a function on the cell phone to locate the victim’s cellphone in the area around Spokane Street in the City of Pontiac. During the investigation deputies found the stolen vehicle parked by the apartments on Spokane Street.

While Deputies were in the area two subjects matching the suspect’s description came out of one of the apartments on Spokane. The subjects ran back inside the apartment and the Deputies were able to arrest both suspects inside of the apartment building. The victim was able to positively identify one of the suspects. Auto Theft Unit was notified to continue the investigation.

The victim and both suspects, ages 25 and 27, both of Pontiac, were brought back to the station to be interviewed by Auto Theft Unit detectives. The vehicle was towed by Adler’s Towing. Both suspects were lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending warrants.
