ADDISON TOWNHIP, MI – Macomb County Sheriff’s Central Dispatch notified the Oakland County Sheriff Dispatch Center on Saturday, October 29th, 2016, at approximately 1:05 a.m., that they had two Michigan State Troopers who had driven up on the scene of a serious crash involving a head-on collision on Romeo Road and Townsend Rd. near the Macomb/Oakland County border.  marissah-rose

When Deputies arrived Troopers advised that they had already requested their MSP Crash Reconstruction Unit to respond to the scene. Deputies from the Addison Twp. and Oakland Twp. Substations assisted Troopers for over 4 hours at the scene. Firefighters from the Washington Township Fire Department, the Bruce Township Fire Department and the Addison Township Fire Department also responded to the scene of the crash to assist.

Witnesses reported that a white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by a 39-year-old man, of Romeo, had been traveling eastbound on Romeo Rd, passing slower traffic in a marked no passing zone.

As the 2015 Silverado pickup truck attempted to pass a second vehicle, it crossed the double yellow and struck a red 2003 Chevrolet Blazer head-on driven by a 25-year-old woman, Marissah Rose Haack, from Addison Township. Both vehicles overturned.

Paramedics provided telemetry to an area hospital where a physician pronounced Marissah Haack dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was extricated from his vehicle and transported to McLaren Osteopathic Hospital – Oakland with serious injuries. Deputies continued to assist Troopers while the crash was under investigation. An Investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene.

It is believed that alcohol contributed to the crash.

Crash Investigators from the Michigan State Police are continuing with the investigation.

Masissah was a server at TGI Friday’s in Troy.  She also was a graduate of East Detroit High School.
