BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone is reporting the safe recovery of a missing elderly male in Bedford Township in Monroe County.
On Saturday, October 29th, 2016, at approximately 11:00 p.m., an 88-year-old Bedford Township man, who suffers from several medical ailments, left his residence on foot, located in the 7600 block of Bridgeway Road in Temperance, Michigan. Family members began searching for the resident, but they were unable to locate him. The man’s family contacted Monroe County Central Dispatch shortly after midnight, requesting additional assistance.
A much larger search party was then formed, which included members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Uniformed Services and Canine Divisions, along with Fire/Rescue personnel from the Bedford Township and Erie Township Fire Departments.
Within two hours into the extensive search, Deputy Sheriff Bill Broman located the man, who was found lying down on the property of a nearby residence.
Once located, the man was medically cleared and returned to the safety of his family.
