PONTIAC, MI – On Saturday, October 29th, 2016, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Deputies responded to the 100 block of W. Strathmore Street for a Domestic Assault.
Upon arrival, Deputies located a 28-year-old man, of Pontiac, sitting on the front porch of the residence holding a dog on a leash. The victim, a 26-year-old woman, of Pontiac, arrived back at the residence accompanied by other family members later identified as suspects #2 and #3, a 22-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, both of Pontiac.
The victim had facial injuries and had stated that her brother (suspect #1) assaulted her and attempted to have his dog bite her. The female victim and suspects #2 and #3 began attacking the dog. Suspect #1 then turned to attack the victim, at which point Deputies attempted to take suspect #1 into custody. As Deputies attempted to restrain the 28-year-old, the two family members began to assault her, striking Deputies in the process. Deputies deployed a Taser in order to regain control of suspect #1. The two family members, identified as suspects #2 and #3 fled the scene. Suspect #2 was found hiding inside a nearby vehicle. A K-9 unit responded and conducted an area search. Suspect #3 was located by the K-9 unit and apprehended a short distance from the scene.
The bother of the victim was transported to McLaren Osteopathic Hospital for a medical clearance and was later lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of criminal charges. Suspects #2 and #3 were not injured and lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of criminal charges. Oakland County Animal Control responded to the residence and took custody of the dog. The incident remains under investigation.
