LASALLE TOWNSHIP, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone is reporting the arrest of a 36-year-old La Salle man on multiple criminal charges stemming from a Home Invasion that occurred on N. Otter Creek Rd in La Salle Township.
On 10/31/2016 at approximately 2:00AM, Sergeant Jeff Ellington was on patrol in the La Salle area when he encountered a subject pushing a large generator down Laplaisance Rd, east of S. Dixie Hwy. Along with the generator, a large trash bag containing cordless power tools was found in the subject’s possession.
Through investigation, Sgt. Ellington was able to determine that a Home Invasion had just occurred in the 3900 block of N. Otter Creek Rd, and had yet to be reported. The homeowners were in bed asleep when the incident occurred. It was determined that the victim’s vehicles had also been broken into. Items recovered from the subject’s pockets were found to have been stolen from those vehicles.
Narcotics were also located in the suspect’s possession while he was being taken into custody. The suspect was lodged at the Monroe County Jail for charges including First Degree Home Invasion, Larceny from Motor Vehicle, and Violation of Controlled Substance Act. The suspect’s name is being withheld, pending formal arraignment in First District Court.
